Biography
Jeff Kinkle is an attorney licensed to practice in New York State. His practice focuses on litigation, art law, and intellectual property. He lives and works in New York City and the Hudson Valley.
After graduating from Fordham Law, Jeff spent two years clerking for Judge Jenny Rivera of the New York Court of Appeals, the state’s highest court. After that, he was a litigation associate for several years at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler, one of the country’s elite law firms. He has worked with writers, artists, designers, animators, and numerous others in the creative community. He is currently Of Counsel at Jayaram Law where he focues on intellectual property and commercial litigation.
Jeff is the co-chair of the Art Law Committee at the New York County Lawyers Association (NYCLA) and is an associate professor at Fordham Law, where he teaches legal writing.
Before becoming a lawyer, Jeff completed a PhD at Goldsmiths, University of London in critical theory, writing his dissertation on Guy Debord and the Situationist International. He is the author of several books and essays on art and politics, including Cartographies of the Absolute (2015), co-written with Alberto Toscano.
